Buffalo Wool Co – Prairie: Doc Susie

Susan Anderson, M.D. was born in 1870 and moved to Cripple Creek Colorado, with her family in 1891 during the gold rush.

“Doc Susie” was the inspiration for Dr. Quinn Medicine woman.  Bear attacks, syphilis, bullet wounds, malaria, scalpings, cholera, arrows shot into the skull, scurvy, rabies, ax mishaps, snake bites, were all just another day at the office for this Legendary Woman.
